After getting off the pedicab yesterday (see previous post) I found myself swept into the carnival atmosphere of the downtown Hub of CicLAvia. Sure, there were happy families cycling together, but there were also some inexplicable people on wheels having a lot of fun in this event.
The next CicLAvia will be in November in Long Beach.

A very nifty customized bike. Notice the gold handlebars!All dressed up for Halloween! Or everyday cosplay. A very fake horse head on a bike and a young man in gray cutoffs in a Lucha Libre costume. Only in L.A.!Of course there was a unicyclist performing at the Hub. What I didn’t see were everyday unicyclists on the Ciclavia route. I can’t believe there are no amateur unicyclists in L.A.I think this was about art and music. Two people on a horizontal bike-built-for-two pulling a ‘float’ with a drummer and flutist. No signs on the float to identify who or what it was.A group of ‘White People 4 Black Lives’ marched through the downtown CicLAvia Hub.You think that voting ‘Yes’ on M means more Metro trains sooner? Nope! The politicians are going to use the money to repair potholes! It’s true! Read the Proposition. It is mostly about repairing potholes!This Metro bike rental station is just around the corner from the Little Tokyo Gold Line station.
