I went to Descanso Gardens in La Canada this afternoon to see the chrysanthemums and listen to the Japanese drummers and ended up seeing a pair of deer on a path through the Gardens. The deer were totally unafraid of humans. Perhaps the reason for their disinterest in me was because the stag was clearly in pursuit of the doe.
The chrysanthemums on display were less beautiful than in previous years, but I did manage to capture a photo that struck me as so typical of Fall in Southern California: three young women in lightweight clothes beneath a trees turning golden.
It’s still quite warm here–in the 80s today–in November. Even warmer weather is predicted next week. We definitely need rain after the low rainfall last year, but the seemingly endless sunshine makes for great weekends!
Oh, one other image from today at Descanso: children and parents riding the little train around the gardens. I ended up missing the Japanese drummers.
