Such ambitions I had earlier this year! I was going to write two humorous vampire novellas during the summer and then move onto something else. I wrote the first vampire novella, New Vampire in Town, and received good feedback. It reached #2 on the Amazon humorous vampire books list. Lots of stars, too!
The only complaint was that it was too short. So instead of a second novella, I have been writing a much longer vampire novel for months now.
So what does this have to do with the bike/walking path along the beach in Santa Monica? Well, one key scene in the novella takes place further south on the path at Venice. In the novel, two key scenes–including a nighttime fight among vampires, also takes place on the bike path in Venice.
One of the reason I chose the bike path–which is 8 miles long–is because of the colorful people who inhabit that area of greater Los Angeles every day. No more details, however, because I don’t want to write a spoiler.
