Pink roses for Pasadena Rose Parade

Getting ready for the Rose Parade in Pasadena

If USC beats Stanford then the University of Southern California will play in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day, 2016.  But whether or not that happens, the Tournament of Rose parade will go along Orange Grove Ave. then onto Colorado Blvd. on January 1st.

The bleachers on Orange Grove are already in place, although the ‘towers’ for the TV networks are not yet up.  They will rise above the bleachers at the far left in this photo. The floats for the parade line up along Orange Grove starting around midnight. Their growling engines can be heard for a mile or so away.

About four blocks farther south is the Wrigley Mansion–once owned by the family that made chewing gum famous–now the official headquarters for the Tournament of Roses.
