The clerk at Menchie’s where I bought pineapple sorbet and salted caramel froyo with caramel sauce on top. They are my favorites which I enjoyed under a sunbrella on the patio outside the store.
We all know that the drought in Southern California is very very serious, but it is hard to argue with a warm, lazy Saturday in early November. The temperature is in the high 80s, but should be in the low 70s. We’ll take it anyway.
So I indulged myself with a trip to Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt shop in South Pasadena, followed by a visit to Vroman’s bookstore to pick up a 2017 calendar and a gift for my son.
This charming patio area and stage is where concerts and performances are held occasionally during the holiday season. That terra cotta color building beyond the patio is Laemmle’s Playhouse Theater which screens art and indie and foreign films.The for rent sign just went up on these brand new apartments and as the scaffolding came down a new mural was revealed. Definitely Old Hollywood!
