Here is what I did on Mothers Day:
Caught the Gold Line Metro to Union Station where I was surprised and delighted to listen to a traveler playing music on a piano available to anyone who wanted to play it.
Saw a poster in the Red Line Station for the Red Nose fundraiser on May 26th. This organization raises money for children’s health around the world.
Walked through Grand Park where the Jacaranda are in bloom and discovered a statue of Christopher Columbus I’d never noticed before.
Had lunch with my son and granddaughter at Kendall’s Brasserie on Grand. Lunch for me was chilled tomato soup with chilled shrimp–delicious. The Brasserie scramble which was okay. And for dessert a Zephyr fromage blanc mousse. The dessert was too rich for my son and granddaughter, so now I have their desserts in my fridge.
Back at Union Station, another man was playing the piano. Bravo to whoever decided to put the piano in Union Station! And ‘Bravo’ to both these pianists!
